The time I was almost murdered in a video game:
There is a game called Path of Exile In which you play as a character that grows stronger, defeats monsters and collects better gear. If your character is defeated in battle it is permanently dead and the player must restart the game from scratch, in some cases loosing hours, days or even weeks of play time. The players are all Allied against the monsters except in one circumstance. There is a quest players can cooperate to complete in which there is a choice to either help or fight a certain bandit. If one or more players in a party choose conflicting options they will become hostile to each other. In most cases everyone is very careful to choose the same thing to ensure that their character will not be killed by another player.
One time I was playing this game with my brother as I often did back in the year 2014. We were off to kill one of those bandits with a party of four players. As soon as we started the fight I realized that someone was losing HP much faster than they should be. One of our party members had chosen to help the bandit and was now attacking us! I said to my brother the first words that came to my mind: "Get out, get out!"
"Why? what's going on?" he said.
All I could think to reply was: "Get out, just get out!" so we did. Before we escaped, we saw the body of our slain comrade and the murder's message in the chat, "Congratulations, you're number 335."

Why everyone should own a pair of flip flops.
There are times in everyone's life where we have to leave the comfort of our homes for a brief time and require footwear. Sometimes the time it would take to put on socks and shoes would be longer then the time you actually have to spend outside. As I was taking out the trash and recycle today I reflected on how much time I have saved in my life because I invested $2 in a pair of gloriously efficient sandals.
